HIV RESEARCH CENTER

Opened in October, 2003, one District clinic serves as the primary treatment and research center for Gandeepam’s HIV programme. Other locations see HIV patients, but in lower numbers All HIV patients at this clinic are treated free and have agreed to participate in Gandeepam’s research programme. In the last 3 months of 2003, this clinic received 180 patients through recruitment and referrals. 96 were diagnosed with HIV. 6-15 new HIV patients are seen each week.
